My opinion but I believe in good old pounded dirt. No cement because it capures the water and the poles rot. Here is my proof. These fence posts are from the late 60s and they are getting but not rotted off. Two out off 15 posts acually rotted. Had to dig the stump out by hand. The rest I just redrilled with the Danuser posthole digger. Am in the process of rebuilding the fence. Ram the earth with a shale bar. Both of my bars have a larger head on the end. If done correctly you will need to add 6 or seven inches of dirt to a rammed earth hole. Kinda heavy duty but the posts will never loosen or move. Sorta the same idea as vibrated poured concrete.
