Deaths in general are up and not just with guns but over all the ways commonly used. It is not the gun or the knife or what ever at fault it is the way things are now taught an one major factor it the lack of God in the schools and home life. Now days school do not even teach what really happened in the Civil war or what.why it started. And that is just one of many examples. Matter of fact slaves did not come into play in the civil war till some 2 years after the war started. If the ten commandments where still taught in school many death would not be happening now. The whole scale of lack of morale's is a big problem and at one time they where taught in school and the lack of not teaching kids how to respect each other etc. Shoot back when I was growing up a child did not use a person fist name it they talked to an adult they said Mr. (name) etc. But now days that is not done and a child will address an adult by there first name which does not promote respect
