To add a bit. When they were doing I-95 a round the mid 70s through Philadelphia they uncovered a whole mess of trash pits and privy pits from around revolutionary to later time frame. There were a buch of diggers who got everything coordinated to dig those pits for one weekend. I have a couple of the hand blown glob top round bottom bottles from those pits. And we are only around 300 years old. In Europe you can find stuff thousands of years old.
