I put a bag of open dog food out an put a light beside the bag when the skunk comes the cats will sit back and let them eat. I put it 20 feet from my front door. I just open the door and shoot them . out of more then 20 skunks in the last 2 years I have only had one that stunk the place up. I use a 12 gauge and it seems if they cant get the tail up they don't spray. I have hit them in the side the back and the head just hit them square not to wing them .
