I guess big parts of the state have had their power cut including big parts of the bay area. We still have power here in fire prone Mariposa County. It has been hot and dry here ( as normal) and we have a wildfire raging less than 4 miles away. I have a generator ready to go but have not needed it yet.
Power lines do start fires. A week ago a limb fell off a pine tree and took down a line. When it but the ground the arc started a fire a half mile from our ranch. It burned about 25 acres of dry pasture and oaks. They are constantly trimming trees but is impossible to keep up with it.
Stan, you can plug your house into your RV. You will have plenty of power for lights and a couple of refrigerators. Just don't run any heaters and if you have electric hot water turn it off.
