Loosen the belt tensioning bracket and release tension on the belt so that you can use a small slotted screwdriver to take enough sections of the belt out to shorten it. Reassemble the shortened belt and retension.

These belts are particularly handy for applications, like my Allis Chalmers, where it requires a major disassembly job to replace a conventional type v-belt.
