Think they were both designed by the same man who moved around companies at that time. I have worked on a Northrop, they had a structural weakness in that they used the tombstone of the Ford 5000 asone of the mounting points for the front axle and steering. Our customer's one was always breaking the tombstone and eventually the tractor was moved on.
