In trying to recall the Ford pickups I remember for a fact the 1939 Ford cars and trucks both had floor shifts, the car had steering column shifts in 1940 but the trucks continued on with the floor shifts, I may be wrong but I kind of think that it was thru 1948, I remember the 1949's had the column shifts. Hope that I have been of help.
