Here in the south east corner of Pennsylvania is the big mushroom growing area of Kennet Square. There are several sights for prices of mushroom soil. Composted horse poop and hay that is sterilized and used to raise mushrooms. There are outfits that will even deliver it. There are a variety of prices but this stuff is like the premo for gardens. You need to really till it in with a big rototiller machine to get the best results. Gardeners just love this stuff. Have no idea how far away you are from these growers but a large trailer load might be cost effective. The others have said mulch / rotten hay, lime,and manure, but it all takes time. The mushroom soil is pretty much ready to go.
