The price the Auctioneer starts to ask for a given piece of equipment, should be very close to what the actual selling price or value of said equipment. Not some pie in the sky ask like $150,000.00 for a combine which only ends up selling for 50 Grand. And these guys didn�t spend long asking for more bids, once biding had slowed, they dropped the hammer. I like that kind of auction, sharpens the bidders up. They came to do business not visit, and if you aren�t paying attention, you could miss out. That is what I am referring to as realistic.
