When I was just out of high school, I went to work for as a mechanic for a marina.
They had floating boat storage, a conglomeration of mostly old boat houses with barrels for flotation.
Story goes that in years past there had been snow and ice storms that put so much weight on them they started to sink. Had to get on top and shovel snow off, which meant one slip and into the lake you went!
Thank God I never had to do that! I would have probably been looking for another job!
