If the product you ordered from that store had to be ordered from the catalog or a vendor, then what you had was a special order to start with. The reason that the stores charged individuals for shipping was to keep the cost on other items down. The money for shipping has to come from somewhere, and if you dont charge the individual then the cost of items in the store goes up to pay for it. Being a farmer I can look at these stores from two different aspects, that of the employee behind the parts counter, or that of the farmer. When the merger with Quality Farm and Fleet took place a lot of problems occured within the company that could not be overcome. It is unfortunate what has happened to Quality stores, but out of the ashes Tractor Supply Co. has picked up the pieces and is forging ahead. Tractor Supply Co is saying on their website that they are going to reopen 85 of the Quality Stores as their own TSC Stores, if I read it right and I would presume they would want to open them in time for the spring season.
