One of the truly annoying things about online sales is that so many sellers can't be bothered with posting any specifications for their products. It seems Amazon sellers are the worst, but you find it even when companies have their own web sites. Sometimes you can find the specs online, sometimes not. For example, the other day I was looking for bicycle parts. For some of this stuff you need to be very specific as to the dimensions, because the newer parts aren't interchangeable with the older stuff. The sellers often just give a manufacturer (say Shimano) part number. But if you go the manufacturer's web site, they don't list specs on their parts, either! So I end up buying from other sellers, who DO publish the specs.
