I think the disease is called "aging." I have had the wet-type for a few years. Last year I went completely blind in my right eye and it scared the heck out me. Some Asian eye-guy did emergency cryo-surgery on me. It hurt quite a bit. He told me I had two choices - the quick cryo-surgery and I would be home in a few hours. Or go in the hospital for the old-fashioned "pop the eyeball out and work on it" type deal. All wenjt well and my vision slowly came back. I asked the eye guy what I can do to prevent it from happening again? He said the only thing he believes really works is to stop getting older.
