I am the oldest of five kids, Mom never missed the names. My younger siblings are 15,17,18 years younger than me. So growing up I was more like a Father than an older brother. When my own kids came along if I was mad I would often call my oldest son by my brother's names before getting to his. LOL I kind of got out of that habit with my younger kids. Now my trouble is calling the Grand kids by their parent's name. The trouble is often it is a grand daughter and her Father is my son.
My one Grand Daughter will be twenty here shortly. I called her by her Dad's name often enough that it has become a joke between us. So I usually call her John the second now. She signs any cards she sends me with her name Jenny first with John in brackets behind her name. LOL
