Hydraulic Fliud Question

Hello all

This question pertains to my "tiny tractor", a John Deere 400 with what looks to be a homemade front end loader. I need to replenish the hydraulic fluid for the loader, but I do not have much experience with this.

In the first place, the loader has no markings on it. I have no idea how much to add. Secondly, I have no idea what kind of fluid to add. Can this stuff be mixed brand to brand, or do I need to drain and replace it with one kind only?

In the third place, I am not sure if there are any other issues of which I need to be aware. If anyone has any advice for me on this, I would appreciate it.
