I was always asking everyone I knew where was any old tractors sitting.I had a co worker tell me of a 70 gas John Deere and I never really paid much attention to him because I knew who the man was who had it and I just figured he would not sell anything period.One day about a year later my co worker asked me if I had talked to the guy about it and I told him that I had totally forgotten about the old 70.That very same day I went to get some kerosene on my lunch hour and lo and behold the man who had the 70 was at the pump too getting kerosene.I choked and could not strike up a conversation to save my life because I did not know him personally.All the sudden after his can was full he turned to me and asked me if I would do him a favor.I naturally said sure.He asked if I would load his can because he had just had surgery.I did and he said thanks and thats when I had to drop the bomb on him.Mr,don't you have a 70,I asked.Sure do,he said,Would you be interested selling it?I asked.He said,come on over and look at it and that he may sell it.By the next day I was the owner of a 1956 model 70 gas.It used to have a loader on it and all it did its whole life was pull a sileage cutter and cut hay and feed cows.Well enough and later.
