At the time, I was working as a freelance computer consultant. Feller I worked for had two offices, one of which was out in the puckerbrush on a back road. Went to that office to fix some networking issues, and as I was walking back to the car, caught a flash of red in the brush behind the house. I wandered over and there sat an F model Farmall, a rotted out tarp laying over it, exhaust pipe gone, front tires and rims in tatters, but otherwise fairly decent looking with nearly new Uniroyals on the back. At the time, I didn't know squat about Farmalls that old, but I was pretty sure it was either a F12 or an F14, based on size. Went back in the house and asked if he might be interested in selling it. Seems he owned it partners with a neighbor who was in Florida for the winter, but he'd check on it and get back to me. Couple of weeks later, he said if I wanted it bad enough to give him $100 for it, I could have it. Seeing as the tires were worth 3 or 4 times that, I grabbed it. $4300 later, it runs like a watch. The engine was a LOT worse than it looked...
