I agree with the ear protection. I only have 60% hearing. But That tractor should not be that loud. Sounds like either no muffler. somebody has removed the guts of the muffler or has the wrong muffler. You might be able to go to a muffler shop and get a lot quieter one than was factory from a car that would fit, also is it possible to mount a small resonater type of muffler in line with yours. Cars years ago used that setup. Very likely that if factory muffler is a straight thru type, no baffles to slow the exaust and break down the sound. I think if you look around you can find a quieter muffler that will fit. If it is that loud I would say the muffler is shot. And I do not like to hear any engine exauset sound. I HATE it when they put straight pipes on a tractor, sound affule to me but some like that sound.
