If all the gages went dead, and the fault alarm went off, you have a blown fuse or a dead short. this would explain why it won't start also. Check the fuses, and battery connections. If you have a wiring diagram in your manual it should tell you what fuse (or circuit breaker) is causing the problem, and what to look for if it blows again.
