Here's my funny: I've been told this story many times, but it happened LONG before I was ever born, so I don't know if it's all true. But . . . Before my grandad had made the change from horse to iron horse for farming, he was awakened one night by a knock at the door. A man in a nice suit told gramp he had had some trouble down the road a piece and had his Model A stuck in the ditch. Gramp got the horses out and hitched up, went down there and surveyed the situation. He hooked up the horses and pulled the guys' car out and down the road a bit to get him past the mud. The fella asked if Gramp wanted anything for the trouble, and he replied that two dollars would be fair for getting up in the middle of the night, hitching up the team and putting them away again. The guy said he thought that was too steep, so gramp said that was fine, called "Giddap" and put the car back in the ditch, unhooked the horses and went on home. Knowing gramp that story could be 100 percent true, because he's the kind of guy that would do that. Or, it could be 100 percent false, because he's the kind of guy who would tell you stories if it suited his mood.

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
