Evan, What size bucket do you have? I have a 1050 with a 5' bucket and a 970 with a 4' bucket, a full bucket of dense material is a good load for either. Does your loader go up and down fine when empty? On your joystick (loader control lever) the boom control will normally have a float position just past the point where you push or pull the lever to lower the boom. If your hoses are reversed and you pull or push the lever too far (depending on the orientation of the lever)nothing will happen because it is in the float position. Try moving the lever a small amount from the center position and see if it lifts. Another posibility is that your relief valve is set for too low a pressure or has not reseated after too heavy of a load. If your bucket was purchased (sized) for handling light material you may be trying to pickup to much weight and the relief valve is opening. You may just be low on hydraulic fluid. How many hours are on this tractor? Did you try using the loader much before you purchased it or was the loader added afterward?
