I had a 73 pather that would run great for about 15 minutes after it was started and then die out after it cooled alittle bit it would start back up. It took a dark night with the hood lifted trying to get it to run right to see what the real problem was (after monkeying with it for a month) One of the coils had a hole burnt through it and I guess when it got hot the remaining insulation would lose what it had left and you could see the spark flying from that coil to whatever it could get to. Worth a check I guess, after I found the problem then it was pretty evident that the coil was scorched in that spot, you know, should have seen it before then
