You folks talk about sleeving or boring it like it's cheap. Complete teardown for rebuild, plus machine shop, plus parts = not worth it. Last block I had bored was $80 a hole. Sleeving was $110 a hole. Anybody priced 283 pistons recently? I had a guy wanting me to build a 283 about 5 years ago. A set of 40 over 283 pistons was going to cost as much as an entire 350 kit with the cam of his choice, machine shop costs would be the same either way. Guess which we did?
