Yep, I'm with the others here. While if you do try it I wish you the best of luck. But I fear that the margins are just not there. As others said, there are a lot of folks out there that will buy that new 110 buck Walmart special, run it 4-5 seasons and buy another when it collapses. Or they will get a Murray rider for 1500 and put it on a credit card. So that means a push mower has to be less than 1/2 cheap new. I don't care if it was a 400 buck mower new. If I can buy a mower for 110 new I'm not paying more than 1/2 that used. Same thing with the older riders. Most folks are not going to pay top dollar for a used one. About the only things in a mower I see bring decent money used are commercial duty riders and that still isn't a great market.
Local guy here who ran a used stuff store wanted me to overhaul lawnmower engines for him. New rings and gaskets at least. And including labor wanted me to do it for 12 dollar a mower including labor. Said he had to get that kinda price to make a profit on the used mowers.
