Thank goodness my dad taught me caution so I have never had a really close call, but I know of several bad ones. All were dumb. Son in pickup towing father on tractor to shop with a long chain doing about 40 mph. Trooper recognizing dangerous speed attempts to get son to slow down. Son pulls over abruptly and father goes by the truck at 40, at least to the end of the chain. The boy in the truck lived. Young man mowing steep road ditch when tractor began to slip and turn. He jumped off on the uphill side. The rotary mower raised up and came down on the guy. There was a little left to bury. Neighbor bushogging in field and got some wire wrapped around the blades. Stops, lifts mower and turns off tractor to remove wire. Very, very slowly the mower lowers on top of him until he can't get out. Finally, the weight of the mower stops his screams. Friend cutting hay while standing up on tractor. Left front wheel hits a hole. Mower blade or whatever cut leg almost off, but he had bled to death when he was found. Several flip overs, but this is probably enough. BE CAREFUL-the life you save may be your own.
