1. Most often you get what you pay for. And no, you don't buy insurance with the attitude that you have to. You buy it with the attitude that you are protecting yourself and your loved ones. So if it cost a little more to get insurance that will actually pay without hassles especially when you need it most may just be worth a few extra bucks.
2. If you are not sure about what's covered ask. No, not the agent. Most insurance companies have 1-800 numbers. Call them and ask. Often the requirements to be an agent are not that high. Varies state to state. Often the agent won't have the information or will be like a used car salesperson and tell you what you want to hear to sell a policy.
