MARK A The episode with my car got me to thinking about the interchangeability of oil filters in general.
For example, I have 3 old tractors and each requires a specific oil filter. Some of these oil filters are quite pricey. It would be great if I could safely install a similiar (but less expensive) filter in place of the one called for by the manufacturer, and I can think of no better place to find such information than the excellent advice offerd on this forum.
