Fellow tractor folks, I drive regularly between West Texas and Southwest Missouri, and need to locate a motor machine shop somewhere along my path that will take on a project. I have a c-169 IH block, counterbored for dry type liners and I will need the following; * Bore, then install repair sleeve in one hole to fix a cracked bore. *Cut all counterbores to the same depth *Surface the block so that the deepened counterbores are the correct depth for my dry liners
Sadly, the shop I have used out here in Lubbock for 30 years has let me down, and they don't want to mess with this block any more. I know that this repair will not be economical, but this is the original block on an otherwise very nice tractor, and I just can't stomach scrapping the original block if it can be saved. My normal machine shop in Lubbock just keeps telling me to scrap the block, and find a wrecking yard replacement. I also tried two alternates out here, but they just sat on the block for months without doing the work.
Can anyone recommend a shop along this route? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I dropped off the tractor expecting a transformation from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system utilizing the original generator housing, and a total rewiring of the whole tractor. The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
