Two things: With the lead to the points disconnected, or a plastic knife between the points, there should be very low resistance to ground. (use an Ohm Meter set to RX1. Probably near one to 2 ohms. There should be much higher resistance between the high voltage tower, and ground. Probably more than a thousand ohms. A reading is good, Infinity (open) in not good. If these are OK, the real test is output of spark. The other tests just keep bad internal wiring from letting you go beyond that. Good luck. Jim
