I like the burning but I am building a garage over the area and I don't want stumps under it.

I am afraid they will rot and leave a hollow spot under the slab floor. Or maybe they won't rot if there is a slab keeping rain out. But then will the termites eat them away?

Also I can't burn until after 4PM so it would have to burn away overnight unattended while I get some shuteye.

I heard of a long heavy tapered bar with a hinged hook on one end that grabs a stump like a pipe wrench. You hitch horses or a tractor etc. to the other end and drive them around in a circle and twist the stump out.

I guess the thing would be like 10 to 20 feet long and heavy. Anybody heard of such a thing?
