As an A&P you know that a muffler on an aircraft would have little effect in reducing sound because most of sound we hear is from the propeller, not the engine. That isn't to say that I disagree with the gist of the posts here. I'm really sympathetic with the plight of those living in rural areas and being overrun by city dwellers trying to escape what they made for themselves in the city.
