So on the front spindle on my WD, I have, from the inside to outside:
Flat Washer
Bearing Spacer (w/ Felt Seal Over It)
Flat Washer (should this be a Retainer instead?)
Inner Bearing
Inner Bearing Race
Rest of Hub Assembly
Trying to figure out with the rebuild kit I have, how the upper right piece of the image works (the "retainer" or cupped washer thingy). It seems it is supposed to go flat side against the felt and cup going towards and over the inner bearing into the hub. However, that fit is super tight on my hub (like, smack it with a hammer/seal driver or press fit, tight).
Is this correct? When I tore my old setup apart, I Just had a flat washer in where I suspected the retainer should go. The service manual images just don't show enough detail or have enough words with the instructions to explain it to an amateur like me I guess.
