Best auction fiasco I've seen in a while was at Ritchie Brothers equipment auction recently when the first item in the ring was a 2001 35 ton detachable lowboy equipment semi-trailer. The auctioneer started at 10 and rose quickly to 30 and finally topped it out at 35. When he hollered "SOLD! to the buyer for $35,000" the buyer almost vapor locked. His reply?, "I thought it was $3,500". Everyone held the laughter as long as they could, but I imagine that feller could hear it all the way back to his pick up out in the parking lot.
