Sick Magneto

I'm in the process of restoring my Farmall Super A, which ran before I took it apart. When I turn the magneto by hand it clicks and I can feel the electric shock at the distributor end of the cable that is connected to the coil. But if I hold this cable end close to the metal magneto body, it does NOT spark. Where should I start? Coil? Condenser? Magnet(s)? Points? Any and all help from you experts appreciated!
