Ground temp is around 54F, not 30s-40s. Older cellars are always cool. Just put a fan in the cellar and blow the cool air up the stairway. Simple and effective. I have a 3x12" floor vent in our kitchen with a small 6" cage fan in the cellar connected to it. I just plug it in during hot weather and it does quit well at cooling the front of the house. Some times cellars are pretty stinky, so this may not work in your situation. Our cellar is partially finished off so no stink problems. Loren
