At the link below, items 3 and 4 are for the purpose of maintaining batteries. Other companies make similar products. I have used item 4 for two winters with great success. Need to get one of item 3 as I have some 6 volt batteries. Made small jumper cables from 18 gauge wire and clips from Radio Shack to connect 2 batteries together and used my one maintainer to keep 2 batteries. Worked fine. Batteries do not have to be disconnected from the vehicle. If vehicle is needed, just remove clips, crank, and drive away. This maintainer cannot be used as a power supply or on a completely dead battery-if it does not sense a voltage from the battery, it will have no voltage output.
