Looking closely at the videos, I have not seen any evidence that the rear engine is running.
Usually there is some leakage around the rod seal on any steam engine. As you can see there is always steam coming from around the front seal, never see any on the rear.
In one of the videos, I believe it was the very first test run, the engine was puffing a LOT of steam from the left front, to the point it stopped and several workers gathered around looking at it. It then returned to the shop.
