Now that the conversation has shifted from mice to cats I will take it to another dimension. When I was in high school (50's) a neighbor asked me to shoot what was in excess of 100 feral cats on his farm because he thought they were were killing his chickens (lots). I accepted the mission reluctantly since I've always liked cats. I had popped between 90 and 100 of them before I caught THE fox leaving the chicken house with a mouthful of feathers (oops!)...and to bring you up to date...I discovered coyotes in our neighborhood two years ago-intervened when they went after the neighbor's flat-coated retriever. I called the County and they gave me permission to hunt them and shoot them, in our back yard and neighbor's woods, because the coyotes were stalking kids on the local elementary school playground! (The Seattle libs had gotten a referendum passed outlawing use of bait, traps, and dogs hunting cougar, coyotes and bear!) Now, we're having fun!
