I getting tired about the generalities on which was best so thought I'dd define a narrow usage and see if good results happen. The corn pickers would be the IH 234, the JD 227? the New Idea and Ollie pickers, in other words the last and heaviest mounted pickers made. I don't mean to exclude any machines these were the ones I could think of. Neighbor ran 234s on 4020s to harvest seed corn till 3 years ago. I figgered the best rig would be a 234 big bed on a 826 Hydro with Nuess D358 diesel pullind a Roorda live botton wagon. Please keep your choices to pre 1970 if you can or mention why you did not. farmer kev
