I have been driving Farmall's for 55 years, but when someone asked about shifting into high last week I couldn't explain it. Today I drove ours to town and the parade so I paid attention! When I get out on the road I wind it up to about 3/4 throttle in 3rd, then clutch in, throttle back to an idle, and then slip it into 4th, clutch out and give it some throttle again. Ours will shift like this with very little gear grinding or clutch slipping.
