I've been thinking of a split system but am concerned the inside unit, evaporator, is just like a window unit. How can I prevent the black mold and mildew from growing in the evaporator? I must sanitize annually all my window AC before installing in the spring.
Central AC blows the air across the A-coil so no moisture comes in contact with the fan. Window units and split systems pull the cold air into the fan. Just look at the squirrel cage in my post. Moisture equals black mold.
