Bob, I wouldn't recommend it, However is you put tractor all the way to the front, part of the weight is on the hitch. So trailer doesn't carry all the 1000#. In theory, it's recommended you have a minimum of 10% tongue weight. Who is to say you couldn't push that to 15 or 20%. Try it on back roads, drive slow and pull over when you approach an on coming car. Chain it down good.
