More on Christmas (Tree) Lights

A friend asked me to post this question on the site. Sorry that it's a stray from our normal themes but he is a farmer and has a serious question. He wants to put battery powered lights on a small (3 foot) Christmas tree at his son's gravesite. Last year he used a set that was powered by 2 D-cell batteries. Naturally, they didn't last long in a MN winter and he wondered if there was anything powered by larger batteries, such as 6 volt, etc., that would last a few days He's not an electrician, but like most of you, has learned to adapt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
