A little off topic but somewhat related being a JD 55 was mentioned. My first combine was a well worn out JD 95, 24' sickle head. Threre I learned how to dismantle just about every type of cylinder JD used on their equipment...Quite an experience. After completing the mechanical restoration, first time out I misjudged a local power company power pole right in the middle of the oat patch in an unknown field. Got the header past it just fine but forgot I had the unloading auger/chute sticking straight out.............need I say more.
