Petrol (gasoline) will not hurt it at all. Kerosene washes the oil off the cylinder walls and you were supposed to drain the top of the oil from the sump every morning and top up with new oil. Kerosene is now about 4 times the price of petrol whereas about 1950 it was a about a third of the price of petrol. All my kerosene tractors, 1941 W-4 and 1948 Farmall Super A run on petrol, usually use 95 octane as it is a bit more stable than the 91 octane.
