The advantage of resistor wires is that they cut down the amperage of the electrical spark which is what burns off the electrodes of your spark plugs,like welding. If you want to go all out, put on a set of stainless steel wires. The resistance in them is less than half of carbon core and they won't ever burn out. I use them on lots of gaspowered equipment with excellent results.
