Go dig out your copy of GREEN for January, 1996! Read the JR Hobbes Article on the 6030. He mentions "testing" a NEW 6030 and an 8430 together , in 1977?, with the same load---a nine shank V-ripper. According to the printed article the 6030 would pull in SIXTH GEAR the same load that the 8430 could pull in B2. The difference in speed was that the 6030 would pull it TWICE AS FAST! It was a fine article and had a great deal of good information about the 6030! The thought of one with a soundguard cab and powershift is interesting. If Deere had offered one, they would have never needed the 4840 and the whole line of developement of "high horsepower tractors" would have been different.
