It probably would make a bit more sense to look at them as series: Row Crop (in order of power): the "GP" which then was split out into H, B, A, G which were replaced by the 50,60,70 then the 520, 620, 720, and finally the 530, 630, and 730
"Wheatland" style D which then was "replaced" by the R then the 80 then the 820 and 830
"Inline" motors: The "M" and related "MT" became the 40, 420 and 430 with the inline 2 cylinder
The LA also had an inline 2 cylinder similar to the "M"
