Ferrellgas owned the tank when I bought my place many years ago, and I wasn't even aware I could contract for my winter supply. The Ferrellgas folks never bothered to mention it. I found out from my delivery guy who was moving to a new job and felt safe suggesting Ferrellgas wasn't the best way to go. I checked Ferrellgas price vs. my current supplier every month all winter, and the closest F-gas came was 9 cents/gal. higher. I switched the following summer and convinced five other propane users to do the same. Also, I found out that another F-gas user had bought 1,200 gallons for a total cost that was less than I paid for 1,000 gallons -- something about a quantity discount break point that Ferrellgas had never bothered to point out was available. Did I feel a bit ripped off? Well, buyer beware....
